Victor Eriksson joins Hammarby

Hammarby has signed center-back Victor Eriksson from Minnesota United in America. The 23-year-old has agreed to a personal contract with Hammarby that spans four and a half years.

Victor Eriksson began his football career at Värnamo Södra FF before moving to neighboring club IFK Värnamo at the age of 17. After making his A-team debut within a year and a half, he held a spot in the starting eleven as the team progressed from Division 1 to the Superettan and eventually the Allsvenskan. During his time at IFK Värnamo, Victor played 125 A-team matches and scored four goals.

Although he joined Minnesota United earlier this year, Victor Eriksson has now returned to Sweden to join Hammarby, reuniting with head coach Kim Hellberg.

"I am incredibly proud to be here. Hammarby boasts Sweden's most dedicated fans and a strong squad. The idea of joining Hammarby started to feel more real about a week ago. At that point, I knew I wanted to be a part of this club. Hammarby is a major club with aspirations to compete in Europe and secure the Swedish championship," Victor Eriksson said.
